My Click Engine Case Study

Can You Really Get Traffic for $5 per Month?

I’m no different.

I signed up with The Click Engine when it first launched in February, 2022.

I also signed up for the one-time upgrade, “Double the Buyer Traffic”.

The first month, I got 1 lead.

For $4.90 per month, I thought I could do better. So, I tweaked my Optin Page.

No better, So, I tweaked my Optin Page again.

By June, I decided that I really needed to learn to improve my marketing skills.

So, I cancelled my subscription.

Fast forward a year and a half.

My skills as a marketer have improved.

I still have a ways to go, but I’ve learned quite a bit in the intervening 18 months.

So, I thought I’d take a plunge and give The Click Engine another try.

So, What is The Click Engine?

Essentially, The Click Engine is a traffic rotator.

This is where you submit a link that gets added to the rotator and the link gets shown in a rotation. Typically, the link would be to a sales page, a splash page or an optin page. When the prospect sees the page, he or she can take action by buying the product, clicking the link or opting into your list.

Product Facts

  • Product Name: The Click Engine
  • Owner: Jeff Aman
  • Website: https://TheClickEngine.com
  • Type: Traffic Rotator
  • Price: $4.90/mo or $49/yr
  • Rating: 1.0 / 5.0
  • Recommended? No

In the case of The Click Engine, the rotating links are availabe to view in a daily Email sent to buyers of The Click Engine, hence the claim that you’ll “Get 100% Buyer Traffic”.

This makes sence, since people that have gotten their wallet out and bought something online, will be more likely to buy something else. And since they purchased The Click Engine, they are interested in getting traffic to their sites or offers and are most likely in the “make money online” niche.

With over 15,000 sales of The Click Engine, that’s a lot of people that could view your page.

But, herein is where the problem lies.

When The Click Engine first launched, there were a lot of people clicking on the rotating links, just to find out what other people were promoting. Once that initial surge of traffic is done, then there is only a small incentive to click on the links.

The main incentive is that everyday, 3 active members are selected for the daily Active Member Spotlight and their links are included in the daily Email that is sent to all members, active and inactive. So, if you win a spot, rather than being in a rotation, when someone clicks on your Active Member Spotlight link, they will be directed to your link.

I wasn’t interested in viewing hundreds of sites or pages, hoping to win a spot in the Active Member Spotlight.

So, in my case, the amount of traffic I got was quite low.

My Promotions

Since I had 2 spots on the rotator, I submitted the same link twice to get 2X the traffic to the link.

The link connected to a splash page, as you can see here.

The link on the splash page redirects to the Warrior Plus sales page for a free offer, Traffic Endgame.

I thought this would be a good offer, since The Click Engine buyers are probably looking to increase traffic to their sites and offers.

My Results

I used LeadsLeap to track my results.

As you can see, on the first rotator link, I got 178 clicks to my splash page. Of those, 29 viewed the page for less than 1 second, so LeadsLeap subtracts them from the total to come up with 149 Real visitors.

From those 149, I got 1, yes 1, person to click on the link and go to the sales page for the Traffic Endgame course. But, that person did not “buy” Traffic Endgame, even though it was Free.

On the second rotator link I got similar results.

Here I got 139 Real Visits and no clicks.

Direct Comparison

At the same time, I started promoting the same splash page at LeadsLeap.

Unfortunately, I didn’t save the graphs. I still can’t believe that I did that.

But I can tell you that I got 849 Real Visits.

Of those, 18 clicked through to the Traffic Endgame sales page and 8 bought it for free. I also made 3 sales.

With LeadsLeap, my click through rate was 2.1% and the sales page conversion rate was 44%. This is a lot better than with The Click Engine.

Now, granted, although LeadsLeap has a free option, I pay $23/mo for Pro status.

Comparing my cost per clickthrough

  • The Click Engine – $4.90/mo – 1 clickthrough – $4.90/clickthrough –
  • LeadsLeap – $23/mo – 18 clickthroughs – $1.28/clickthrough

Now, paying $1.28 just to get a click to a sales page may seem quite high.

But with the 3 sales that I got, I actually pulled a profit.

Conclusions and Recommendations

  1. Don’t buy into The Click Engine
  2. LeadsLeap is a much better alternative and you get a lot more just for being a Free member.

1 thought on “Click Engine Case Study”

  1. Thanks for this awesome comparison review, Dennis. It was interesting to read because I also tried using The Click Engine in 2023 and I had a similar result of 1 click and 0 sales. I love how you illustrated your results via a real case study.

    I love your work!
